The baby-speakers’ selectionOur baby-speakers are all natives of the chosen language : they are English native speakers (English, Americans, …) for English language, Hispanic for Spanish … After a selection on resume and experience we interview the candidate to make sure he/she will meet your requirements. We have set up criterias to check his/her predisposition to take care of children, his/her morality and motivation. The selection process ends when the family meets the baby-speaker and gives its approval. |
The safety training covers all safety aspects related to outside the home (afterschool, walking to activities…) as well as inside.
We enlight key daily moments subject to being dangerous and reflexes to have to ensure the children’s safety such as “always hold his/her hand in the street”.
Besides fundamental cultural differences with their countries of origin (for instance in Boston one often does not watch out for cars before crossing the street) our baby-speakers are initiated to major cultural differences. For instance based on our experience, authority is a subject we often have to deal with, for which we go into details.
The linguistic training aims at giving advice and tips (along with the material) to the baby-speaker in order for him to motivate the child in learning a new language by leading dynamic and interactive sessions!
Practically we insist on fundamental principles of language acquisition like reformulating in the second language (L2) what the child says in the first language (L1), and its repetition. There are as well many ‘tips’ to encourage your child to use the recently-learned-vocabulary-words, for instance when the child needs something from the baby-speaker always encourage him to ask it in the second language!
In addition to your children’s favorite games, we give to your baby-speaker different kinds of activities for him to spend a fun immersion time : active games (such as ‘simon says’, ‘go fish’, ‘hot and cold’ …) and calm games (memory, happy family card…), songs, skits, recipes…
The objective of all this material is to use the language like “a tool to learn something else” instead of the subject being learned. Our baby-speakers are not following a programme but adapt the activities to your child's motivation and to what he feels like doing in the moment.
